Before letting autorouter run is there a way to set the power traces (e.g., 12V, GND) to a wider width than the signal traces? Also, is there also a setting that allows only 45 degree bends for traces?
Thanks,
Jeff

help --> class
Jeff,
from experience I recommend not to leave the power traces (incl. GND) to the Autorouter. You better route them manually as the autorouter is definitetly not as intelligent as a human. It might be helpful if you check the option 'auto set route width and drill' in options/set/misc menu.
Cheers,
Mario
Agree, manual is ideal for power traces.
One thing I've noticed with the class method - although it works very well, it does produce a warning at the ends of traces if the trace width would need to be smaller to reach a small device pin for example.
This is a common thing, because many SMD parts are (say) 0.5mm spaced pins, and yet I would want certain tracks to be (say) 1mm in width for the most part, except as it approaches the SMD component.
Maybe there should be an option in EAGLE that allows the class to be overridden for a certain length of track where the track is connecting to an SMD.
This would mean the track is thinner close to the SMD, but usually this is not an issue if the length is short.
It would be a nice feature enhancement (I'm still on an old EAGLE release however, so my info may be old).
Thanks for the tip Mario
Thank you Shabaz.
Did you ever figure out any tricks to solving your issue? Did any of the above advice work for you?
Eagle autorouter is also annoying in that it will waste/ignore available
space...if 10 traces need routed in an area it will pack them right next to
each other, even if that means leaving 500 mils of adjacent area completely
unused. There should be an option to space apart the traces to avoid shorts
or signal contamination when plenty of room remains (maximize spacing but
allow a minimum clearance). It's like shoving all of your furniture into
one corner of an empty room.
