Watch battery library in EAGLE?

e14 Contributor
e14 Contributor over 13 years ago

Is there a library that contains 1.5V watch batteries in it?  I have been searching far and wide, and can't seem to find one.

If one does not exist, I would be willing to create one for the community at large.

Do you mean the type that come with welded contacts on them? If so, they are in the battery library, e.g. search for CR2032 for one example. But the CR2032 is a 3V battery, not 1.5V.

The CR2032 is the rather large disc one that is more often in things like weighing scales with an LCD display, rather than watches really.

For some smaller batteries, Farnell has some clips that come in two parts, a small round disc that is soldered in the center of the PCB, and a three-sided retainer shell that is soldered on top, so that the battery can slide in.

The photo here shows what I mean (the center disc is not in this photo). You can see the outline of where it was supposed to be soldered

in (the clip is a Farnell part). This was with EAGLE but I've lost my library since then (it was a custom user library).

This was for something like a 12mm dia coin cell, i.e. watch sized.

    shabaz,

Thanks for your help.  My question is not about selecting individual components, but whether libraries that contain these components exist for EAGLE.

I am looking for libraries containing both the PCB-mountable battery clip and the battery itself.  The CR2032 is far too large for my application, and an SR66 or SR44 watch battery will hold charge more reliably for a long time compared to Li-ion.

BTW do you have a link to a distributor/manufacturer of those little

    battery clips?

    Hi Joern,

Keystone  (http://www.keyelco.com/products/prod03.asp)have a good collection. The SMT low profile (http://www.keyelco.com/products/SMT-coincellholders.asp) ones look nice and there are through-hole variants too. (Not sure which specific one the OP wanted).
