Track capacitance calculator

Hello!

Eagle does have a very usefull ULP called "length-freq-ri.ulp" where it automatically calculates tracks length, resistances etc.

Now, it would be great if an ULP (or any other piece of software) could calculate capacitances between tracks. It would be a great tool to better pcb designs, specially when dealing with high-frequency.

I know real world the values would be dielectric/coating/etc dependent but relative values would already be very helpfull.

Does such a tool exist? I've searched a lot looking for it but can't find anything.

Best regards!

    Hello Andrew!

I know how to calculate it. Put it's impracticall to calculate the capacitance between each pair of tracks by hand.

Even two tracks would already give a lot of work if they have ood shapes, angles or curves.

That's why I'm looking for a software that could make these calculations from the actual board design. It doesn't even need to work with Eagle. It could use the generated Gerber files.

    Best regards!

have a look at 'traceres.ulp' from

    http://www.cadsoft.de/downloads/ulps.

I don't know if it does what you need, but it mentions track

    capacitance in the description.

on the other hand, if you know how to do the calculations and know a

little bit about programming, you could write your own ULP.
