Beginners PinHead library question

donrecardo
donrecardo over 11 years ago

Hi

I need to place 12 pinhead connectors in a 4 x 3 matrix with 0.1 inch between pins in each direction

I thought it might be simple just place three 1x4 pinhead parts in rows with each row 1/10th of an inch apart

but I tried that and the pads on the 1 x 4 are so big that each row overlaps the next

If I only wanted 8 pins in two rows of 4 it would be fine because the 2x4 pinhead part has much smaller pads

I am guessing I am going to need to modify the library to make the pads on the 1x4 part smaller, just like on the 2x4

Can somebody walk me through the process please of how to change the pads in a way a beginner would understand

Regards

Don

What about two 2x3 ones side by side?

Hi , and thanks for replying

I must admit I hadn't thought of that and it would of course work however

if I need another size I might be stuck again. I was rather hoping someone would be able to tell me

how to alter the size of the pads on the 1 x 4  to be the same size as the pads on the 2 x 4

That way no matter what part I  use  i would know how to alter it if needed

Eagle is great software but isn't it hard work using it when you are a beginner
