Lock command disabled in freeware version ?

Former Member

I am evaluating the freeware version and the LOCK command is not working.  Is Eagle hiding the fact that it has disabled some functions in the freeware version ? The lock icon is selectable in the board editor on the left tool bar but clicking objects - any object - polygon, wire, pad, anything does nothing, it does not lock them. You can still move them. The same for group lock does not work at all.

According to the Freeware limitation description LOCK should work. anyone tried the LOCK command in the freeware version ???

The lock icon is selectable in the board editor on the left tool bar

but clicking objects - any object - polygon, wire, pad, anything does

nothing, it does not lock them.

    As per the HELP

The LOCK command can be applied to parts in a board, and prevents them from

    being moved, rotated, or mirrored

Those 'parts' are the 'elements'(footprints for devices) and only they can

be locked right now. There have been requests for other objects, like those

    you mention, to be lockable
