Phantom element in PCB when performing DRC

clw

I have a PCB that shows a clearance error when performing a DRC. The DRC identifies a thin item that does not seem to exist in the actual PCB. I have tried individually and group selecting but this does not seem to work. The phantom item lies on a polygon outline. If I move the polygon outline the clearance error is no longer there.

Probably there is some element on a layer you have switched off. Check all

    layers!

I've checked that already. The DRC output says the error is in layer 1 which is the red track shown. If I turn off all layers the DRC reports 1 error in hidden layer 1.

The element is approx 0.0316mm long and 0mm high when measured with markers. I've checked the xml data for board and can't seem to find anything around the coordinates that it is visible.

These are the DRC polygons. In this case, they likely indicate that

there's a clearance issue. If you run the DRC and clear the errors it

    should go away.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia

Yep, I'm fully aware of that.

The problem is now solved. It turned out to be two adjacent polygons for different signals on the top layer with the same rank. The clearance error flagged turned out to be where the outer bounds of the isolate loci of one polygon interfered with the adjacent one. When the polygons were moved closer the DRC clearance error was more apparent, rather than a minute element of the periphery. Changing the rank of one polygon fixed it.
