How to delete orphaned polygons

qzic
qzic over 3 years ago

I have a PCB which I auto-routed and the ripped-up all traces and the auto-routed again. Running DRC exposed overlaps. These overlaps were actually orphaned polygons. I had not created any polygons on my PCB, these are obviously pieces of traces that rip-up all missed.

Orphans on/off has not effect

attempts to delete or check properties of these orphans does nothing.

Solutions anyone?

    Hi,

If you can attach a screenshot, it will help. Currently it's unclear, because the autorouter doesn't create polygons (as far as I'm aware). If you'd manually created a large polygon, you could delete it. so that wouldn't cause any orphaning either. As a result, it's unclear what you mean and a photo could help. Finally, it's best to just not use the autorouter, most CAD packages (EAGLE included, in current releases of it) have manual routing systems with assist capability to help quickly lay down traces that automatically do not overlap.
