Anyone want to buy eagle scripting.com?  Should I let it die?

Hey guys, some of you know I was writing a book "Advanced EAGLE CAD,

Scripting and File Manipulation", but with the new EAGLE ownership and the

change in monetization, I'm completely out of motivation and have given up.

I used to feel a strong connection to the CADSoft guys and the community,

but I fear that is gone forever.  I just can't imagine doing anything that

would benefit this Matt dude and the giant faceless company behind him.

 

With that said, I'm trying to decide what to do with eaglescripting.com.

Should I just let it fade away into internet dust?

  • If you let it die, someone will grab it and whatever content it has and

    fill it with porn. They will add key words to make sure it shows up on

    google searches for Eagle and Autodesk. This would not be good for

    Autodesk. Maybe they could buy it from you and use it for the purpose you

    intended.

    Well, with a lead from Jorge, Matt made contact with me once, but I haven't

    heard back from him since.  I won't hold my breath, he seems to be a busy

    guy.

     

    Over the years, I've seen a lot of sites turn to porn or, for some reason,

    Japanese blogs.  I worked on a project once where I took over a design, but

    didn't own the domain.  Instead of letting me buy the domain from him to

    have continuity, the owner let it go and it ended up as one of those blog

    sites.  Of course all the circuit boards I had made had that URL on them.

    Sigh...

     

    I've got the eaglescripting domain on auto-renew and it only costs

    something like $9/year, so I'm going to let it sit for a while.
