stand alone version

How about a stand alone version of eaglecad that will run anywhere such

as a flash drive.  That would really be useful to me right now as I can

not run eaglecad reliably from my laptop and it crashes frequently.  If

it was not tied into the registry maybe that would help.  Or make a

portable application out of it.

Eagle does run from anywhere, you don't need to use the "installer",

it's enough to extract the archive contents and start eagle.exe.

The real issue will be licensing (unless you use the freeware key):

eagle.key is bound to some system properties.

Crashes shouldn't be necessary. You should fix this.

Eagle doesn't use the registry as far as I can see.

No kidding. I would if someone could help.  No one seems to know why.

It is only on my company laptop where I use eaglecad the most.  I have

tried everything I can think of and even a suggestion from someone in a

forum, but nothing helps.  The only way to get it to run properly is to

uncheck "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized activity."  I

even added it to the DEP exception list, but that did not help either.

I believe it does to store the paths at least.

Only if you use the "installer", not if you simply extract the files

    and start eagle.exe.
