SM8 SSOP 8-LSSOP DCT or R-PDSO-G8 Package please!

Hi Dave,

When looking for packages, check the ref-packages.lbr and smd-ipc.lbr

first, most of the standard packages are in these two libraries and you

can always copy from them into your own library and modify them as

necessary.

If you still can't find a package your looking for open up the BOARD

editor(has to be the board editor not the schematic editor) and use the

ADD command to search for the package. Make liberal use of the wildcard

character *.

If you still don't find it then you'll have to draw it yourself. If your

design is critical, Olin's recommendation of comparing the package you

get in EAGLE to the datasheet is very good advice. I've never had any

serious problems with the packages in the libraries, but it's always

good to be cautious.

Not sure exactly what package(s) you are after, but have a look in

microchip and use ssop18, then copy that, and modify it,

Or better still just make your own part,

There are too many names, so this is ambiguous.  Without at least a pin

pitch and width, I've got no idea whether I have such a package or not.

You are welcome to look in my PACKAGE library included in the Eagle Tools

release at http://www.embedinc.com/pic/dload.htm.

I personally wouldn't trust anything I find without carefully comparing it

to the datasheet.  Since you have to do that anyway, just make your own.

What's the big deal?  That should take about 10 minutes, which is less time

than it takes to get a answer here, fetch it, and inspect to see if it's

really what you want.
