Support for IPC-2581?

Hello,

 

I know that CadSoft has expressed concern with implementing the ODB++

manufacturing format since they were required to sign an NDA to do it was

doubtful that they could create a ULP do do it (probably the preferred way)

without releasing details that were covered by the NDA.

 

But now IPC-2581 is being touted as an open standard for data exchange.

What is CadSoft's position on this new standard and will they support it

officially?

    Well, if this is really an open (and free) standard now,

    it should be possible to write a ULP that generates data

    in that format.

     

    I'll forward this to our management.
