After routing successfully a board I noticed I could increase the

diameters of a few pads, is it possible to do this directly in the

board-editor  i.e. without editing the components themselves in the

library

Hello Hugo,

As of EAGLE 5 there is no way perfect way to do this.  You may be able to

use the DRC rest-ring settings to get there, but it will adjust all pads

or vias in the design.  If you want to just do a few then you have to edit

the library.

If you don't want to make it a permanent change then you have to copy the

footprint, edit the new one, add it to your device--that's a real pain and

clogs up the library with lots of footprints.

Another option is to add some custom polygons on top layer and appropriate

mask layers to do the same thing.  Downside to that is that if you move the

part you have to remember to turn on all the layers and group it all and

then move the group so that all the objects move together.

There is no good solution in EAGLE 5.  Hopefully EAGLE 6 will have a better

solution to this.

HTH,

James.
