Probably this question has been asked before:
Is it possible an if possible, how is the syntax, to export a netlist from the
command line.
Explanation why it is needed:
In a complex design with programmable logic, the FPGA/CPLD design flow needs
the pin assignments. For the Xilinx flow, this is an ucf file. I have a perl
script to generate the ucf from an exported netlist (schematics -> file ->
export netlist).
The ISE flow has a Makefile, and if the schematic changes, a rebuild of the
HDL is needed. If I could write an ucf target the looks at the timestamp of
the schematics and eventually regenerates the netlist and the ucf file,
less things can be forgotten.
