this topic is the opposite of the situation I have. I need to have a screw
show up in the BOM, and represented in the Schematic, BUT I don't
necessarily want to see anything added (or take the time to add) in the
layout.
This answer provided by Bert made me realize that what I want is not
possible. However I checked with the designer and he's OK with having to
place a "component" as long as it won't come up in the gerbers. Meaning,
they'd have to be drawn on layers that are not transferred to the gerbers,
like tDocu or Document or some other layer that you know won't be
tranferred..
I just wanted to share this bit of information.
