Not just in the schematic. In the board, WIRE is used to draw lines
except when they are wires, then you use ROUTE.
WIRE should really be called LINE all around, but it's way too late to
fix this poor choice of names now.
Not really. I'd suggest that in EAGLE 6 "LINE" be used and "WIRE" would be
considered an alias to "LINE". Then in the future, WIRE could be
deprecated with a SET command to continue to use it as an alias to "LINE".
That way, it makes more sense out of the box with a path forward to
cleaning it up.
