Attribute Display from Script/Command

Hi

 

Reading throuht the help file on attributes, I'm not able to find how to set

the Display property of an attribute. I add attributes like this in the

schematic:

 

attribute LED1 MF 'AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES';

 

But the default for Display is "Value", but I want it to be "Off". I

manually have to

 

attribute LED1

 

and edit it by hand with mouse / keyboard. How can I do this from the

script/command prompt (attribute command).

    Firstly, to clarify your issue.

    As you add attributes, one by one, the values are displayed. So you have a

    number of them displayed and this is why you feel you need to use GROUP to

    change the attribute display property to 'OFF' for all of them.

     

    If so, in keeping with your script/keyboard desires, try the attached ULP

    to turn off the attributes of a specified part.

     

    RUN AttOff LED1

     

    To reduce keystrokes, shorten (rename) the ulp file name to AO .

    RUN AO LED1

     

    Some provisions apply as the ULP emulates mouse actions:

    If the layer is not visable when the ULP is run the display property of the

    attributes on that layer are not modified. If you later turn on that layer

    the attribute will display. It is likey with the expected use this would

    not be an issue.

     

     

    When targeting the compete schematic you may also find of use:

    GROUP ALL;

    CHANGE DISPLAY OFF (>0 0);

     

    All attributes of all parts will turn off.

    check out the ingroup() setgroup() and clrgroup() ulp commands, they are

    very useful.

    I was a bit to quick in my last response.. I can go around my problem by

    calling delete first (if already visible).

     

    ATTRIBUTE LED1 MF DELETE;

    CHANGE DISPLAY OFF;

    ATTRIBUTE LED1 MF 'AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES';

     

    But as far as I can see, the CHANGE DISPLAY will only work for attributes

    not already created, else you have to use GROUP, which implies mouse action.
