Custom Component Naming

Former Member
Former Member over 14 years ago

Hi All,

I have created my own library of components for a project I'm working on and there are some components that I will be using more than one of.

I was wondering is it possible to be able to name them so that when I put them down in the schematic they will be named R1,R2 ,R3 automatically? If so, how?!!

I am using the free version 5.11.00 since I am a student

Any help is greatly appectiated.

Rich Long

Just try it, and you'll see it already works that way.

Look at the device suffix in device editor. Make sure it says "R" for

resistors, and the rest will come.

    Richard,

Morten meant to refer to the prefix, not the suffix.

It's near the bottom right of the device editor window.

    Enjoy,

        - Chuck
