HI,
I have 2 separate boards at the moment that were built/tested and they were
prototypes, and I have noted changes I need to each board.
But One board is a CPU Board and the other is an I/O Controller which
connects via a 6 way idc header and a common power connection
I want to merge both schematics and LAYOUTS together into one board, and
remove such things as connectors, and some other redundant parts.
I want to maintain my I/O Controller layout as is, and then add my CPU
Board to one edge of that board, This new board will be bigger, but thats
ok.
Is there any way I can Start with my I/O Controller board ( which is the
larger board and is the most correct) and then make one side of that board
wider, and then "copy and paste" my CPU Board ( the layout and schematic
together) to the new area, and then make my changes.
I understand that I would have to check my net naming so both are
compatible, but the most important thing is to maintain as much of the
layout as possible, at least at first copy & paste.
I am not fussed with any renaming of designators of the copied parts.
Both of my boards are 2 layer.
The I/O board has 2 sheets in the schematic and the CPU board has just one,
I would like to copy this cpu schematic to the third sheet of the new
board, but will i be able to copy the layout or will all the parts appear
unrouted?
Any ideas?
Thanks
dave M
