Can I switch snap-to-grid off?

Former Member

Hi,

On occasion I would like to be able to place a track or component exactly

where I want it, even if that point is NOT on the grid. Can I do this?

At the moment my only option seems to be set a very fine grid, but I'd

prefer not to do this because it makes it harder for me to keep tracks

aligned vertically and horizontally.

The reason is as follows....

I've created a library component with 20 pins per cm, and I'm trying to

place it on a board with an identical grid setting, the problem is that I

can't get seem to align the board grid with the component grid, so the

result is that every single track is very slightly misaligned with each pad

on the component. I'm concerned that this slight misalignment may cause

issues when I come to build the board.

Regards

You can set the alternate grid to be very fine but it sounds more like

the origin of the library part is not in the right place.
