I have many questions about the upgrade process!
I currently use the pro version of EagleCad Schematic & Layout version
5.11.0 for MAC
I have download the install package for version 6 , and I am
disappointed/concerned on the lack of info included or plainly visible.
Following are some important questions before I upgrade ( not in any
particular order)
Q1) I want to download the User manual as a separate item, I can't see this
option anywhere.
Q2) I don't want to install version 6 WITHOUT INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS - WHERE
ARE THEY KEPT?
Q3) Where is the upgrade pricing? Why is this hidden?
Q4) Do I need to pay for an upgrade,
Q5) Can i install version 6 in its own folder WITHOUT stuffing anything up
from my current version 5!
Q6) Can I choose to open up version 5 projects/libraries etc IN VERSION 5
and not 6, I don't want them modified unless i need to these projects to be
used in version 6, when I am ready for it.
Q7) Why is all this info not available easily? It should be right next to
the download button, called some thing like "IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE YOU
INSTALL!"
Q8) Why is there no readme file or instal instructions in the installer
package?
Q9) Why can't the user manual or download instruction be available in the
install package after its extracted but before its installed?
Q10) When the installer runs on the mac does it ask for the users login?
I spoke to Farnell ( Element14 in Sydney) , and they can't even tell me how
much the upgrade is and they own It!
I want some time to evaluate version 6, while I still do my current
projects on version 5, I refuse to automatically switch over.
I sound a bit harsh becasue last time I upgraded to version 5 , I lost all
my library and other info and I never want that to happen again?
