Too many questions about the upgrade to V 6  process!

I have many questions about the upgrade process!

I currently use the pro version of EagleCad Schematic & Layout version

5.11.0 for MAC

I have download the install package for version 6 , and I am

disappointed/concerned on the lack of info included or plainly visible.

Following are some important questions before I upgrade ( not in any

particular order)

Q1) I want to download the User manual as a separate item, I can't see this

option anywhere.

Q2) I don't want to install version 6 WITHOUT INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS - WHERE

ARE THEY KEPT?

Q3) Where is the upgrade pricing? Why is this hidden?

Q4) Do I need to pay for an upgrade,

Q5) Can i install version 6 in its own folder WITHOUT stuffing anything up

from my current version 5!

Q6) Can I choose to open up version 5 projects/libraries etc IN VERSION 5

and not 6, I don't want them modified unless i need to these projects to be

used in version 6, when I am ready for it.

Q7) Why is all this info not available easily? It should be right next to

the download button, called some thing like "IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE YOU

INSTALL!"

Q8) Why is there no readme file or instal instructions in the installer

package?

Q9) Why can't the user manual or download instruction be available in the

install package after its extracted but before its installed?

Q10) When the installer runs on the mac does it ask for the users login?

I spoke to Farnell ( Element14 in Sydney) , and they can't even tell me how

much the upgrade is and they own It!

I want some time to evaluate version 6, while I still do my current

projects on version 5, I refuse to automatically switch over.

I sound a bit harsh becasue last time I upgraded to version 5 ,  I lost all

my library and other info and I never want that to happen again?

People are more inclined to reply and help if you ask real questions, not

    rants masquerading as questions.

    Olin,

    What is your problem!

These are are legitimate questions, I am being careful, because the last

time I installed eagle all my libraries and other things were stuffed up, I

have not yet "INSTALLED" the new version , but its on my desktop, I was

hoping that when I expanded the zip file I would get a folder with

instructions, there are no instructions. So I looked around the cadsoft

site and there is nothing else I can see/read about installing or how to

access the new documentaion i.e user manual ( could someone post this) , I

would love to be able to READ THE F%^&*%ING NEW MANUAL!

And as you can see I have had plenty of good replies to my questions (

rants ), you are such a negative person, and I am getting tied of your

attitude towards people, I don't care how "experienced" you are with

eaglecad, but your experience with people is lacking, sorry mate but please

    stop being negative,

    Regards

    What is your problem!

Your attitude and everyone else's that pretends to ask questions which are

really just whines.  If you really have a question, then it means you don't

know the answer, which means you shouldn't be asking it in a way that

assumes Eagle or Cadsoft is doing something stupid.  If you think you know

how it works, then you don't have a question.  In that case you can make a

suggestion in the right place, but without the childish bashing and

emotions just because you don't like something.

    Quote:

Some were perhaps, lost in the noise.  Others definitely were not:

    Quote:

    option anywhere.

This is just a complaint.  Nothing was asked.

    Quote:

    ARE THEY KEPT?

Would have been a reasonable question if not for the shouting.  All that

shows is you can't keep your emotions in check.

    Quote:

Starts out quite reasonable, but ends a bit insulting by implying Cadsoft

is deliberately hiding this information, which is of course silly.  At

worst if this is really missing it is obviously a oversight.

    Quote:

Do I need to pay for an upgrade,

Legitimate for someone really new to Eagle, although it would be a good

idea to end a question with a question mark.

    Quote:

Why is all this info not available easily?

Does it matter?  It is or it isn't.  Clearly this is not a real question.

    Quote:

Why is there no readme file or instal instructions in the installer

    package?

Rant masquerading as a question.  Does it really matter why?  If you think

there isn't one and you want one, saying that nicely would be a

    suggestion.

    Quote:

Why can't the user manual or download instruction be available in the

install package after its extracted but before its installed?

Another rant disguised as a question.

    Quote:

When the installer runs on the mac does it ask for the users login?

Yes, a real question!  (Wouldn't simply running answer the question easily

    though?)

    Quote:

I am being careful, because the last time I installed eagle all my

libraries and other things were stuffed up,

Then you probably put your stuff in the Eagle install tree, else I don't

see how Eagle could have "stuffed it up".

    Quote:

I have not yet "INSTALLED" the new version , but its on my desktop, I

was hoping that when I expanded the zip file I would get a folder with

    instructions, there are no instructions.

I haven't looked yet, but I expect "run the install" to be the

instructions.  It would be unnecessary to say that to anyone that's used a

computer in the last 20 years.
