upgrade cost from V5 to V6?

e14 Contributor
e14 Contributor over 14 years ago

The upgrade server is still under maintenance.

Any ballpark figures for upgrading a single seat Eagle Pro from version 5 to

6? I'd like to get a budget line request in before the money is all spent.

Happy Holidays! (you may wish me a Merry Christmas)

    Hi Matt,

The lite version doesn't have an update path. You basically buy the

    license again.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge

Yes, perhaps that is why I'm sensitive to your plight image  I usually

that Jim Morrison is actually my father and he's still alive and kicking,

running a 7-eleven with Elvis image

Any relation to the famous Oppenheimer?

    James.

No relation that I've been able to find. The name did make it hell in

engineering school since all the profs (especially Physics) thought I

    MUST

know the answer. Truth is I was more likely drinking than studying the

    night

before...   There is a very distant relation to DeBeers and the

    Oppenheimer

Fund (we're the poor relations that nobody acknowledges).  Anyway, I

    got the

name because my dad was in the Pacific theatre of operations during WW2

    and

was grateful to J. Robert that the need to invade the Japanese homeland

    had

been removed. Horrible things either way.

And I suppose you've been asked on occasion about any relation to Jim

    Morrison of "The Doors".

Let me answer that!  For those who don't know, my company hosts the forums

at eaglecentral.ca and we're also an EAGLE distributor.

To answer one question:  There is no difference ordering your EAGLE license

through us.  Our prices are identical to CadSoft's/Newark's/Farnell's price

for North America.  And you get a pseudo-third party advocate on any issues

with your order (not that there have been any issues on orders that I've

    ever run into).

There was also some confusion about the upgrade price (hence CadSoft taking

down their upgrade process).  I had discussions with CadSoft yesterday and

the prices I have on my website are correct.

You can do simple upgrades online (one version to the next).  If you want

to do something more complicated (like adding users or modules at the same

time) then email me (mailto:sales@eaglecentral.ca) and I'll get you a

    quote.

    Cheers,

    James.

Thanks for clearing that up James.  I appreciate your hosting the

forums.  They have been very helpful to me.
