How to define standard settings?

Hi,

 

How is standard settings defined in V6.1?

 

I want the layout editor to open with a grid in mm, not inch.

 

Previously, I have used a eagle.scr with settings like

 

BRD:

Set Wire_Bend @ 0 1;

Grid mm .1 5;

 

But this seems to be ignored in version 6.1

    EAGLE 6.1 STILL uses the file 'eagle.scr' for this - there have been NO

    changes. The only reason I can see why this could fail with your

    installation might be that you now perhaps started to use so-called

    PROJECTS.

     

    If you don't create just schematics or boards, but PROJECTS, a file with

    the extension 'epf' is created in the project's directory, and all

    CURRENT settings are stored there. The next time you open this project,

    ALL settings are taken from this EPF file, and 'eagle.scr' is COMPLETELY

    ignored.

     

    This is the reason why we don't use projects in our institute...
