Vias without Thermals

I know this has been asked before , but I cannot locate a thread with an

answer.

 

I have Eagle 4.16,  what is the easiest way to eliminate the thermals

around specific vias. ( not all vias)

After some though, strategically placed polygons would make sense (and

ignore the drc errors)

 

any other suggestions?

    See image. The DRC has been run and shows an intended drill size error

    for

    the lower via but no errors occur in the area of the upper via.
