Parallel Wire Distance Problem

Okay, I'm offically stumped. I'm using Eagle v. 5.10.0.  I've played around with the Design Rules trying to figure out how to get the wire tracks I'm putitng down on a layer closer together.

I'm pretty sure I've messed with all the mil settings in Layers, Clearance, Distance, Sizes, and others trying to get multiple parallel wire tracks closer together for a small chip I'm using but it doesn't seem to work to make the tracks any closer.

Right now I'm using .016 wire widths and would like them to be closer for a small chip but I can't seem to get them any closer than the default which makes them way too wide for the chip pins.

How do I reduce space in between tracks?

Thanks.

not realy sure I understand, but I hassared a guess: have you looked

    at the grid settings?
