Hi Everyone!
I'm currently creating my own USB stick and creating my own PCB and I thought it would be cool to have the PCB over-moulded in silicon rubber to have that soft squishy feel. My concern is that the silicon rubber may act like water to the PCB and ruin the electronics. I know may electronics are over-moulded with silicon rubber, i.e. the nike fuel band, and Fitbit bands. What Im not sure about is if the pcb would require a thin coating of some sort to protect it from the silicon rubber or can I just get my PCB and over-mould it?
Also, second question? would a silicon rubber body affect the signal of an antenna, bluetooth, gsm, etc. I know those bands i mentioned have bluetooth so maybe its possible.
Sorry for the last of proper terminology. Kind of new to this but thanks to the community I'm learning a lot.
