Assembly Variant Question

e14 Contributor
e14 Contributor over 14 years ago

Hi

Using Eagle 6.2.0 with XP PRO SP3.

Assembly Variant:

When a Component is not selected in the table from Assembly Variant

Dialog, the Printed Circuit Board still displays the component

but only shows the Airwires and Pads, is this a normal behaviour

of this feature ?

If yes how do I get rid of the component from the PCB?

PM

    Jorge

Thanks for answer, now I understand the concept.

I was trying to make 2 diferent PCB's Layouts and not

just have a board with un-populated parts.

    Hi Peter,

The component pads always stay behind, even when a component is selected

to not be populated. The silkscreen and reference designators are

removed but the pads are always left behind.

The only way to really get rid of the pads is to delete the component.

The idea behind the variants is to indicate an unpopulated component, or

different component values or something to that effect.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia
