Autorouter "Preferred Directions" selections

I don't use the autorouter much. The other day I was looking at the

choices for "Preferred Directions" on the "General" tab. Most of the

choices (-|/\) make sense, but what does the "*" (asterisk) mean? Is it

"any direction"?

 

Is there a help file or document describing the Autorouter? I'm using

6.2.0, but I couldn't find anything describing the various options.

    It means "any direction".

     

    If you look in the /doc subdirectory of your Eagle installation, you

    will find a manual_en.pdf file which has more information than the

    built-in Help. Specifically, Chapter 7 talks about the Autorouter in

    great detail.

    Correct, * is basically a don't care or use any direction.

    You can find this info in Chp 7 of the EAGLE manual which is included in

    the doc folder of EAGLE's installation directory. You can also find it

    online www.cadsoftusa.com->Training-> Manuals.
