Double listing of library's

e14 Contributor
e14 Contributor over 14 years ago

As I have version 5.1 and 6.2 on the same machine but in different

locations, including the project and library files, I encountered a strange

problem.

I moved a V5 project to the V6 project folder, opened it in V6 and saved it

under a different name.

In the options only the V6 directories are listed.

But if I want to add a new part both V5 and V6 libraries are listed.

Is this normal or a bug?

Thnx, removed those old lines from the eagle.epf file.

It now shows only the new libraries

    Just a thought...

Most likely you copied over the .epf (eagle project file). Within that

file is a section, that contains all used libraries for that

project, with their absolute path. In your case that would be the V5 lib's.

The library format changed in V6 and saving a library with V6 makes sure

you cannot open it with V5 after that. I'm not sure what the correct

procedure is for these cases, but it's probably a good idea to make copies

of your custom v5 libs (if you have not already done so) in a separate

directory and edit the .epf file to point to them (make a copy first).

I can imagine there are better ways of dealing with this, so if someone

with V6 experience knows of such a way, please join in.
