Some rewording of the HELP and Manual is required to clarify the abilities
of the Text Editor
(1) The manual states that the internal text editor saves using UTF-8.
(2) The HELP for the 'Text Editor' suggests that all input must be ASCII.
Stating in the Manual that UTF-8 encoding is used is misleading as it
implies the editor can accept characters other than the 127 ASCII characters
which it cannot.
(Please advise if this is achievable and how are they entered from a
keyboard)
It appears the editor can:
(1) Open and display correctly ASCII and UTF-8 symbols
(2) Delete ASCII and UTF-8 symbols
(3) Add only ASCII
(4) Save ASCII and UTF-8 symbols
So if the above is correct I suggest the manual is amended to say .
The Text Editor can open UTF-8 encoded files and will display any UTF-8
symbols it contains.
Saved files are UTF-8 encoded.
Any input into the editor can only be from the 127 Character ASCII set
(control characters excluded).
The HELP needs updating as well as it appears to date from a time before the
addition of UTF-8 processing
