Eagle 6.2 developers,
You guys have done a good job with the XML format. Textual differences
between revisions show enough information to be able to tell what has
changed with a minimum of noise. Hat's off to ya!

Is there a way to edit an XML outside Eagle?
Sure. XML is just a text file so any text editor can read it.
I have recently started using the free XML editor called "foxe" .
It makes deleting XML elements easy. It does not need installing. I use it
from a USB stick.
I have a package I can't seem to delete.
If schematic and board are open then you need to delete in the schematic.--
If you are in an open library then you cannot delete the package while it's
in use by a device

This xml editor seems very good. Thanks.
If I want to copy a package to make a second in the same library (as the basis for a new part), can I just add a section to the XML file with a new name. No problem doing that outside of Eagle?
