F/B annotation lost

Hi,

 

While I was working on a design, I accidently closed the PCB layout file. Then I made changes to the schematic. Now, when I try to get the .pcb file back, I get ERC errors that certain nets are different, so F/B annotation could not be performed. I understand that my mistake was I should not have made any edits to the schematic after closing the layout file. Is there any way I can fix this without having to start the layout from scratch ?

    You will have to modify either the board or the schematic to match the

    other.  Since your schematic changes are more recent, it would probably

    be easier to undo those changes, run an erc to re-establish consistency,

    then redo them.

     

    In the project's directory, you'll find .s#1 and.s#2 and such.  These

    files contain a history of your saves for the 9 most recent saves.  You

    can identify the last match by noting the last modified time of the

    board, and finding the .s#? file that matches that time.  It would be a

    good bet that those are consistent.

     

    Unix-like development systems come with a utility called diff, which

    compares two files and identifies the differences between them.  By

    diff'ing your current schematic with the older .s#? file identified

    earlier, a list of the changes to the schematic will be listed.  You can

    use this as a guide to re-apply your schematic changes after

    re-establishing consistency.  I don't know if Windows has an equivalent

    tool.
