PCB Edges?? and Drawing a Line??

How do I add PCB edges.

I made a simple board without a schematic, just a couple of parts.

But I can't see how to add the board edges.

 

Also How do I draw a line on the pcb??

I see options to draw an arc and cicrle but not a line.

Can I use the rectangle tool to do this?? If so how?

 

BTW I'm using version 5.10, I would use the latest but I can't seem

to upgrade the libssl lib.

    PCB edges:

    Draw the shape with wires,

     

    Either

    A)

    Choose the information icone (the "i" at the topp of the tool panel) and click on the wire

    B)

    Or right click on the wire and choose "properties"

     

    change the layer "type" class for the wire to "20 Dimension"

     

     

    Lines:

    Draw the lines with the wire tool, right click on the wire and change the net class for the line into the desired one.

     

    Either

    A)

    change the layer "type" class for the wire to into the desired one

    For example:

    tValues: The line "belong" to the value class and is placed on the top side of the PCB

    bValues: The line "belong" to the value class and is placed on the bottom side of the PCB

    tNames: The line "belong" to the nameclass and is placed on the top side of the PCB

    bNames: The line "belong" to the name class and is placed on the bottom side of the PCB

     

    Which class to select?

     

    Well, the prefix 't' and the 'b' deside on which side of the PCB the "wire" will be placed, t is top and b is bottom.

     

    The Value/Name/Place depends on which layer you want the wire to belong to and therefore it will be shoed or not depending

    which layers you decide to select and deselect to show during the construction.

     

    This will also affect the silk mask later on, that is, if you decide that the wire belong to tValues and

    decide not to inlcude the class "tValues" in the silk mask, the wire will not be included in the silk mask.

     

    For now on you can use the default text class, which is "tValues"
