Help with DRC in different layers

Hello!

I am doing a multilayer design (4 layers). I want to use 6mil track width for inner layers and 8mil for outer. The problem is how to configure the DRC for both values, as I have to choose either 6 or 8.

Any idea?

    Hello Doug,

Ok, I can create both classes and then select which tracks I want to select as inner and which as outters. No problems until here.

But now.. Can you explain a little better about the DRC??

I understand I have to select the 6mil in the DRC and check ONLY the inner layers, and later select 8 mil in the DRC and check the outter. But how can I check only the layers I want???

    Hey Tim,

The easiest way is to run the DRC check and then turn on the layers that

you want to see. It will check them all but show only what you want to see.

It will tell you there are errors on hidden layers.

You could use net classes, set one class to 6mil and call it inner and

one for 8mil and call it outer.

You could also set the DRC for 6mil traces and check only the inner

layers then set it to 8 and check everything else.

    Doug
