layers route,2,3,4...

hello

 

I am making a double layer board, top and bottom, i have just looked in the

board window 'display' button and there are:

 

top

route 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,1,11,12,13,14,15,

bottom

 

i have never seen this before, i am worried I have started making a multi

layer board. when i just need top and bottom. can i remove these other

route layers?

 

If I make a geber from this project will i have problems?

    Good morning, John,

     

    The layers in use are set by your design rules.  If you click on DRC,

    then click on the Layers tab, you'll see a text box labeled "Setup".

    For a two layer board, set this to "(1*16)", without the quotes, of

    course.  Now when you click on the Display button, the other layers will

    not be available.

     

    The layer setup is not really straightforward.  One can read more about

    it in section 6.2 of the User Manual.  It starts on the bottom of page

    138 in the English version.

     

    If I make a geber from this project will i have problems?

     

    The CAM job that creates the gerber files is independent from the DRC

    layer setup.  One can add sections to the CAM job as necessary.  Of

    course, in your example, this would NOT include sections for the inner

    layers.  Just the outer layers copper, solder mask, silk screen, and

    paste (if you're using SMD's).

     

    Section 4.5 of the User Manual goes into greater detail explaining the

    CAM processor.
