Searching online for libraries

Hi

 

Many users have uploaded their componets at

http://www.cadsoftusa.com/downloads/libraries

 

Would it be a good idea that the users, when uploading their custom made libraries to this page, also states which components they have maded.

 

EAGLE will check this database when the user is searching the component libraries when creating the schematic and show to the user that there is an external custom made non EAGLE approved library that might contain the component that the user is looking for.

  • Considering that their online search tool is already slow as molassas, I would advise against integrating it into the ADD tool directly, but perhaps creating another tool that the user can open from the ADD tool. Also their online libray integration needs to have more definition, of what is contained in the uploaded libraries, and how reliable the libraries are in order for this to work.

     

    Great idea though. I wonder if this could be accomplished by using a script?
