How to Route 0.1 inch and 0.5mm devices

Former Member
Former Member over 13 years ago

I have a design which contains 5 0.1 inch pitch connector

   pinhead -> pinhd2x5

and a 0.5mm pitch connector,

   con-hirose -> FH12-50S-0.5SH

and, some 74xxx smd devices.

The autorouter will route the pinhd2x5 and the 74xxx smd devices, but,

not the FH12-50S-0.5SH.

How do I do this?

    The autorouter is allways on grid, so make the grid smaller.

    If you want manually route off grid connections then start at the off

    grid point because eagle snaps to this point automatically and route at

    least to the nearest grid.

    Joern is referring to the autorouter grid which is different to the grids

    you use in the design editor .

    The manual explains it well. (in the .docs folder) From the explanation you

    can understand you must select an appropriate routing grid for the

    autorouter otherwise it will not route to some pins or route between pins

    when there is space to do it.
