how to change value of a group?

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

Can somebody please tell me the correct syntax  for using the ULP

"cmd-change-value-group.ulp"?

If I try to run the ULP from within the File menu I get an error box stating

"No VALUE specified", and then, there is no way for me to specify any value.

I suspect that the answer is to use the command line, but I can't figure out

syntax that is acceptable.

Too bad the Change command does not work for Value, because then

theoretically you could just right click a group and then Eagle would ask

"New Value for Group?", or something like that.

You need to run this ULP from the command line.

    The ULP description shows this.

    RUN cmd-change-value-group.ulp VALUE

So if you grouped some Resistors and Capacitors and wanted to make all

resistors in the group 10K then you would type

    RUN cmd-change-value-group.ulp 10K R

To make the capacitors 0.1uF you type

    RUN cmd-change-value-group.ulp 0.1uF C

Don't try it just yet because its likely a vesion 5 ULP that has been

included with 6.4 and will not work. Some changes occurred to

    part/instances in v6.0.0

Use the attached one which I modified to work.

@Alf You may care to review and swap in this one.
