Using Eag;le 6.4 I noticed in many cases the autorouting packs traces
CLOSE together, even though plenty of room is avalable, such as 3 parallel
traces very close to a row of dip pins, even though there may be 300 mils
of free & unused space available. It does "legally" meet a 10 or 15 mil
clearance, however it would be preferable to use a wider separation IF
POSSIBLE, with the clearance setting as the LOWEST POSSIBLE limit.
Is there a way to force the traces to be SPREAD over the available area,
rather than bunched together? Setting the clearance higher is not the
answer, since in some cases there is no extra room & the tight clearance is
needed.
I looked around for great details & description of the autorouter, but
found none,...where are all these settings described? I did HELP on
autorouter and get basically nothing (useful):
The integrated Autorouter can be started from a board window with the AUTO
command.
The Autorouter is also used as "Follow-me" router in the ROUTE command.
Please check your license to see whether you have access to the Autorouter
module.
