A question for CadSoft
Are there plans to replace the XML parser within Eagle?
I ask this in the hope that some time soon the performance hit the XML has
caused will be addressed
I initially noticed the ULP XML commands were very inefficient. So much so I
started investigating performing the XML functions using Windows Scripting
Host. as I believe it will be faster to perform two file writes and have
WSH do the parsing. At least the Windows users would be happy.
Today's revelation is the simple library Update of a library package from a
ref-package library. That takes 20 -32 seconds on P500. The same action
using v5 (on the same PC) takes 1-2 seconds. So you see, v6 is 20 times
slower.
