cutting down number of drills

Was continuing work on someone else's board and when checking the number of

drills, found way too many to list symbols for each. Want to cut down the

number to a realistic number.

 

What is the best way to identify what drills are where and  how to change

them as a group? I ran statistics-brd.ulp which gives me general data.

    The drills in pads are specified in the libraries so one should

    establish/limit your drill selection there.

     

    Your situation maybe a bit tricky. More information is needed.

    If the board came from elsewhere and not using your libraries you could

    export the elements, (exp-project-lbr.ulp) , modify the drills and then

    update the board.

     

    There are a few other drill focused ULPs around to help. Checkout the

    CadSoft download area.

    drillcount.ulp will give you something similar to statistics-brd.ulp 

    round_drills_mm_all_.zip  Round drills/holes to 0.1mm multiple in a

    library.

    drillinfo.ulp lists which part from which library causes the non-standard

    drill to be listed by drillcfg.ulp

    fixdrills.ulp This ULP rounds drill sizes to the nearest mil. Originally

    created by Chuck Huber

    Thanks Warren.

    I had been using an older version of drill-legend.ulp which was a bit

    limited. Found a newer version named drillegend.ulp that was included with

    Eagle 5.11 that is showing and has symbols for all my current 23 drill

    sizes. Many of these are close in size and can be consolidated.

     

    Will look at your suggestions but for now at least, I have a decent print

    where I can identify by symbol, all the errant sizes.

     

    This board was likely started with inch drills and later on converted to

    metric sizes, accounting for the odd numbers.

    Sad to say, the original designer (also company founder/president) passed

    away recently, leaving me to move all the designs forward.
