Eagle wrong net connection when routing and name

Hello,

I hava suggestion, at this moment I use Eagle 5.11 and I have not updatted to 6 because I miss one important feature, which can be found at Altium and at the free programm KiCad.

This feature is when you are routing the PCB manual, you can connect any net together, which can lead to an short circuit.

Would it be possible that when you routing the PCB Eagle will give a warning or better yet will not connect the net to another net, example:

net: GND and net: VCC

I'm routing with GND and bij mistake I connect the track to VCC, Eagle sees this and will make the connection not possible, because is not the same net. With other words

you cannot route any further because you will pass net VCC.

Also I had an idea that the netname is visibile in the track, so you can see what track it is.

kind regards

Patrick

Essentially what you are asking for is a real-time DRC.  This has been

discussed before but I don't see it happening any time soon.  The DRC tool

will catch this issue but EAGLE will let you do just about anything and

then complain later if it violates a rule.

That is a good suggestion.  Altium does that and it is very helpful.

    Cheers,

    James.
