Gerber to Eagle Converter

Is there a way to convert Gerber files or Fritzing files to Eagle? I needed to create an add-on for the Esplora, and Fritzing added it to their library, so I made a PCB in Fritzing to fit on the Esplora. I now have much of the project done, but I need to use Eagle to finish it off. Thanks! :)

It's rarely a good idea to start a project before researching the tools

you'll need to complete the job.

I took an extremely brief look at the Fritzing file format. It might be

possible to do an automated translation from one to the other. The

information needed appears to be there, but it'd take some programming

effort to do it. A quick Google search didn't turn up any likely hits.

Writing a program to convert Gerber files to Eagle is akin to developing

an optical character recognition system: it'd be possible, but it'd be a

LOT of work and the results would require human review and editing. I've

seen people asking for it but I haven't heard of anyone who has done it.

Unless you're a programmer with lots of free time on your hands, you're

probably looking at re-entering everything by hand.

What's forcing you to switch to Eagle?

    -Reece
