Error: Unknown Command: Layers

scott216

In the package editor (Eagle 6.4 on Mac 10.7.5), I tried opening some

packages from the Adafruit Eagle library

(https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Eagle-Library) and on many if them I

get this error: Line 290 Unknown Command: Layers

For example, opening the package ARDUINOR3_ICSP give me this error.

Here's a screenshot of the error:

Anyone know why I'm getting this?

    Hi

I downloaded that file and have no issues using  v6.3.3. with Windows.

Make sure you used the correct techinque to get the file from Github.

Inspect the file with a text editor that can displays the line numbers and

see if it is corrupt around line 290.

Line 290 is in package EG1213 but that opens OK for me.

The  file has 49,457 lines so ensure yours does.

Some uses had issues with Macs crashing with v6.4 so if the above does not

get you past the rpoblem I would download the recent beta 6.4.5 and give

    that a go.

    Woops

If I read the error message correctly I see Eagle is reporting an issue with

    the eagle.scr file.

That file lives in the scr folder of your installation. My eagle.scr file

is not 290 lines long, maybe yours is. So check that out.

    Good luck

I found the problem.  I got eagle.scr file from a website and one word,

"layers" of a comment had wrapped to the next line.  I fixed it with

textedit and the error is gone.
