I'm a young engineer with extensive experience working on EAGLE. My interests include Power Supply design and LED solid state lighting, and I'm always impressed by a well designed PCB.

    Hello Jorge,

When I try to create gerbers from a board file for the Arduino Pro Mini reference file the pads for the SMT Atmel CPU are shorted together in 4 groups.

Also other shorts occur as it appears to be filling some of the gaps with copper. I am using the reference board file found at

    https://www.arduino.cc/en/uploads/Main/arduino-pro-mini-reference-design.zip

What am I doing wrong?  I used the standard CAM Processor job file gerb274x.cam that is included with the freeware version.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

    Hello Wayne,

I hope you're doing well. Without seeing gerbers it's hard to tell, but if I had to guess, you might have accidentally added the stopmask layer (tStop) to the copper layer gerber. The space between the mask openings is very small on this board and visually it might trick you into thinking that the pins are shorted into four groups.

If you wish you can send me the files for review to support@cadsoftusa.com.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

    Best regards,

    Jorge Garcia
