Dimensions won't delete

I have added dimensions to a PCB, and now they won't delete, I have tried to select at the ends, and at the midpoint, or select them as part of a group. I have added new dimensions to the PCB, and I can delete these, but the existing dimensions can't be selected. I have turned off all layers except layer 20, (the layer on which they on) , but when I try to group them Eagle says the group is empty.

Any ideas how to remove them. When I used PADs for instance I would export as an ASCII and then re-import it. Are there any such work arounds for Eagle.

  • just click on the select tool, go to the editor, press and select the dimension you want to delete, press the del key, done.

  • Did you draw these existing dimensions in yourself or did they come in as part of a library part? If you've used a library part to specify the board outline (this often happens with things like library parts for Arduino shields or other standard sized boards) then you'd need to edit this to remove the dimensions.

     

    For future reference, don't put anything like this on the Dimension layer. This layers purpose is purely for containing the outline of the board and any cutouts. If you want to put measures in you should add these to a documentation layer or another user layer.
