Eagle 6.6 General Layout Questions

Hi,

 

I'm beginning a design in Eagle Layout and I have a few questions regarding

setup and use of the tool.  I've read the documentation and searched the

forums and have been unable to find an answer, so I thought I'd post.

 

Here are my questions:

 

1) Does Layout offer active DRC (automatic rules checking as I'm doing

layout)?

2) Does Layout automatically generate a Test Fixture Outline and

Manufacture Outline when I lay down a board outline?

3) Is it possible lock down nets from changes?

    Unfortunately, EAGLE's current implementation doesn't allow the

    Netclass

    settings to be set on a per layer basis. My recommendation would be to

     

    set the width to the minimum value necessary and then increase it

    manually where necessary.

    No.  I have "drc;" assigned to a function key and I use it after I've run

    any trace that I think is close to some other object.

     

    FWIW, I have the following lines in my eagle.scr:

     

    Assign F3 'ratsnest;';

    Assign F4 'rip @;';

    Assign F5 'drc;';

     

    As I route my board, I run through the sequence F3, F4, F5 to check my

    progress...

    I'm not really sure what that means, but I don't think so.

    I think you can only lock components, not nets...
