Design Link timing out when contacting Element14. Please Help!!

Hi everybody, thank you in advance for helping me. I recently downloaded Eagle and am in upper division undergraduate school and working my way toward circuit design and fabrication/ PCB design. It's the area I wish to specialize in. I love everything about it. So I have used some other programs in the past but it was recommended to me that I learn to use eagle as it is standard in industry so here I am. Every time I try to use design link within the schematic editor, it times out while contacting element 14. I only have the paid version and I scoured cadsoftUSA website to try and determine whether it is a paid feature or not and from what I can tell it is not a feature that is locked by getting the paid version. I really need this feature for a project that I am working on for Minnesota Power this semester so any help would be absolutely fantastic and greatly appreciated. I have tried manual searching and I get the same error. So the timeout error reads:

 

301 Error downloading https://api.element14.com/pffind/services/SearchService?callinfo.apiKey=sf4kqy6u29tkt95gg5a3wejz - server replied: Gateway Timeout

 

Please HELP!!

  • Right after I got a username and password I got an email from element 14, it was an email addressed to all members in North America. The email stated that no one would be able to purchase anything as they were doing some kind of site maintenance and that it would be back up today. I am just hoping that that's all it is. I'm going to try a bit later tonight when I have some time.

    Hi Guys,

     

    Don't worry. Designlink will be back up shortly, Newark is just moving

    and some maintenance is being done.

    I'm not worried that the site was down I really need the feature writing eagle pcb design software, where eagle searches on your website automatically for all the electrical components that are in the circuit which was just designed in eagle and let's a person generate their parts list directly from the software without having to get online and search for every part individually. This is the feature we are worried about and even after your site came back up the feature still doesn't work. If you can help with that that would be great
