DRC drill size error and microvias

Running DRC always reports all microvias as drill size errors regardless of

the settings in the DRC sizes tab for microvia drill and ratio. The net

class drill sizes are set to 0mil.

 

The only way I have found to influence this is to reduce the 'normal' drill

size value to that of the microvia drill size.

 

Is this a feature?

    I have 0.1mm isolation on the two outer layers and 35um copper.

     

    Its a pretty deep microvia with ratio 1.. Try setting outer layer isolation

    below 0.7 to get default 0.7 ratio... (did you set your ratio to >=1?)

    If this is causing it, we could suggest to Cadsoft to change those DRC

    warnings into "ratio/drill" errors instead of "drill".

    for the pcb using microvia.

     

    My layer stack is defined as:-

     

    ((12)3*4(516))

     

    The eagle graphic shows the two type of via. One going through all layers

    and two going through the outer to the next inner.

     

    I have 0.1mm isolation on the two outer layers and 35um copper.

    Sorry, I didnt read enough before replying. I use microvia and I have no

    issue with this.

    How did you define your stack? Does you microvia go through exactly two

    outer layers?

     

    Here is the stack I use for HDI Type II 16 layers:
