Wifi on Raspberry Pi without USB

Hello,

 

I need wifi on my RPi. Now doing it through usb dongles is not an option that I can take due to some specifications.

Is there any sort of extension board that can help me get wifi on my RPi? (Extension through GPIO pins or something). Any help will be much appreciated.

  • Hi Shadeed,

     

    An extension board is not an option unless you're prepared to create one, and write or compile Linux drivers. The 40-pin header has serial interfaces but these do not include USB.

    Do you mean to set up some remote control or datalink?...there are serial

    wifi modules/boards that offer spi or uart interfaces...but then your

    program (app) is in charge of controlling it for your specific purpose.

    These modules have their own processor built-in, to handle the wifi

    protocol stack.
