Bug: Layer Display Changes No Longer Apply Immediately

Greetings,

 

I'm currently using EAGLE v7.2.0 on a Mac running OS 10.9.5.  Immediately upon using EAGLE v7.2.0 when I go to activate and deactivate display layers in layout I must now press the "Apply" button before my display selections are applied to the board under layout.  This method of operation is different from v7.1.0 and all previous versions of EAGLE I've been using since v4 where layer display selection happens immediately when a layer is clicked on.  This change is extremely disruptive to work flow by requiring an additional un-needed button press.  Could this "feature" be fixed in the next update?  If this mode of operation in indicative of an issue with my installation please provide troubleshooting steps so I can correct it.

    I believe that is an incorrect assertion, since the behaviour you

    describe matches what I have always had on V4 and V5

    Hello,

     

    I confirm that I always had to use 'apply' button to update layer, with Eagle 5.x, 6;x, 7.x (on windows and Linux)...

    That why there is a apply button....

  • Thanks everyone for correcting me!  I verified as well that old versions of EAGLE act the same way.  My assertion was incorrect.  I've been using Mentor Graphics PADS at work lately and my layer changes are set to take effect immediately without the application of the "Apply" button.  I got my software packages confused.  I may head over to the suggestions forum and see about requesting a check box to allow layer changes to take effect immediately without pressing "Apply".  I also always thought it would be kind of nice if the layer display window could always remain open as floating window too...
